ASSESSORS MEETING MINUTES

JUNE 30, 2007

 

 

7:00 P.M.   Called meeting to order.  Present:  Paula B. Keefe, Ellen Abelson, Richard

                   Gorden and Mark Mazur

 

  1. The Board discussed our letter to the Personnel Board concerning their review of our Administrative Assistant position.

 

  1.  The Board briefly reviewed the draft of a letter that we will send to abatement

applicants to explain why we have denied their application.  The Board will

review it in more detail at a future meeting.

 

  1. The Board read a memo from the Assistant Collector requesting that we abate the

taxes on a parcel that is now owned by the Town.  We will need to make a request to the State for special permission to abate the taxes on this property.

 

  1. The Administrative Assessor described the Financial Review that is being

conducted by the State for the Town of Sharon.  Mr. Gorden said that he would

like to attend the meeting with state officials that will be held later this month to discuss their Financial Review.

 

7:30 P.M.  Hearing with Mr. David Stusse representing the owner of Parcel #124-29

                  concerning their FY2007 abatement application.

 

7:55 P.M.  The hearing ended and the Board resumed their meeting.

 

  1. The Board discussed the assessment of Parcel 124-29.

 

  1. The Board discussed what we would be encumbering for fiscal year 2007.

 

  1. The Board decided to hold their next meeting at 7:00 P.M. on July 12, 2007.

 

8:25 P.M.  Adjourned
